RESPONSE is a homeschool Christian competitive speech & debate club. It is through the art of public speaking that our club aims to form articulate critical thinkers for Christ, who, in all situations, are able to “respond” to life’s challenges with grace and the truth of His glory (Micah 6:8; Psalms 145:10-12). Our club strives to provide a quality environment that accommodates all levels of proficiency from novices to national competitors. We do this through our 5 strategic pillars of Community, Coaching, Character, Competition, and Culture. As a parent-led club we are supported by our club leadership team and trained committed parent coaches, that help our students accomplish their goals in speech and debate. We hope to help all participants reach their fullest potential in the public speaking arena.

Our club meets weekly on:

Wednesdays for Lincoln-Douglas Debate and Speech events

Thursdays for Team Policy and Parliamentary Debate
Eligibility Requirements:
To participate in our club, students and families must meet the following criteria:

Student must be between ages 12–18 as of October 1 of the current school year

Must affirm and agree to that Stoa Christian Statement of Faith

Must be privately home educated (not enrolled in a charter school, per Stoa league rules)

Students must be actively homeschooling at the junior high or high school level, and not enrolled full-time in college-level courses
-
Parents and students must have attended an introductory class in speech and/or debate
