Are you passionate about civil discourse and equipping the next generation with
the tools to bridge divides, not widen them? Debate teaches students empathy
by challenging them to understand and argue both sides of an issue—building
critical thinking, grace under pressure, and respect for differing views.


Who makes a great judge?
We’re looking for judges like YOU—people with real-world experience who want
to make a lasting impact. No prior debate experience required—just a
willingness to listen, encourage, and offer feedback.

Resolutions:
Lincoln Douglas: Resolved: In U.S. law enforcement, accountability ought to be prioritized over effectiveness.

Team Policy: Resolved: The United States Federal Government should substantially reform its policy on
healthcare.

Parliamentary Debate: Each round the competitors receive a new resolution and have 20 minutes to prepare for debate.

Tournament Details

  • Judge Training provided online by Miha Andrič - world renowned high school debate coach
  • Location: Mesa Baptist Church,2425 S Alma Schol Rd , Mesa, AZ 85210
  • Tournament dates are Tuesday, April 29th and Wednesday, April 30th both days begin at 7:30 AM and end at 10:00 PM

Judge Time Commitment

  • Watch 1 1/2 hour online judge training class by Miha Andric, world renowned high school debate coach.
  • At the tournament choose which type of debate you want to judge: Team Policy Debate (2 1/2 hour commitment), Lincoln Douglas Value Debate (1 1/2 hour commitment), Parliamentary Debate (1 1/2 hour commitment)
