Stoa Debate Rules for 2024-25
Evidence Standards
Click to view the document that outlines a set of recommendations for the use of evidence in debate rounds. These standards are not rules, but they are “best practices” that our organization wants to strongly encourage. Stoa has a commitment to high standards of ethics and accountability and believes that these standards advance these goals. This document begins with the biblical principles undergirding the specifics of the standards that follow.
Stoa desires to promote professionalism and modesty in behavior and dress. Therefore, we will follow Stoa's guidance for our tournament dress code.

Important: Competitors must be Stoa members to compete with us. Also, each competitor is responsible for getting their judging requirements covered. We will do our best to recruit community judges to relieve some of the burden on parents, but, as we all know, these tournaments can not happen without parents.
Meals: Students will have the option to purchase lunch and supper during the registration process. Parents should also purchase a meal as we will only have snacks and coffee in Judge Hospitality. The other option is to pack your food and bring it with you. There will not be time to leave for food once the tournament begins.
Communication: If you begin to get concerned that you haven't heard from the Tournament Staff as the tournament approaches, please check your junk folder or Spam first. You are also welcome to contact us by clicking on the Contact button in the menu on the left.
