The 2nd Annual Light the TORCH Tournament is a one-day Stoa NITOC-qualifying tournament with the following events: 

Lincoln Douglas Debate (6 rounds plus Finals)

Slam Poetry, Open Interp, Mars Hill, Impromptu, Extemp, and Apologetics (3 rounds)

Script submission required for OI and Slam - deadline is Oct 30th at 10pm!

If you are new to Stoa, please read:

FIRST, for students to be able to register for a tournament, their parent must create their family profile and add their students.

• Then, they need to request and be granted membership into an official Stoa club. If someone’s club does not exist in StoaHub, the club director needs to create it. 

SECOND, the family account must complete and pay for their Stoa annual registration. 

• Once a student has joined a club, and paid for registration, they are eligible to register for tournaments. 

• THIS SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE REGISTRATION OPENING. 

Students and parents WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REGISTER if they do not do this.

Registration Opens: Oct 14th, 2024 at 10:00 AM (EST)

Registration Closes: Oct 21st, 2024 at 11:55 PM

• A completed registration, with payment, is due by this date.

• Please note - LD debaters are limited to three speech events even though StoaHub will let you sign up for more!

Fees:

$30 for first speech event, $15 per additional events

$45 for LD Debate

$10 late payment fee after Oct 22nd

$10 drop fee after Oct 30th

Student snacks included with your fees! Optional lunch box and pizza dinner to be added to your registration.
