Please help our tournament run on time!

We are putting a lot of effort into recruiting, and hope for around 100 community judges. Please invite anyone you know who could come serve as a judge! They can sign up on this website or via this Google Form. Students will have the opportunity to make an impact on people outside of the Stoa community! We want our tournament to run on time so that these valued volunteers aren't waiting around for rounds to start.

Here's how you can help:

Check in with a parent or responsible adult who will judge: 7-7:25 am. After 7:25 am, students risk forfeiting the first round. If you are going to be late or need to drop last minute, please text this number.

Parents: Come to Ballot Push 40 minutes before rounds start, and be ready to judge at least 3 rounds! Your availability will help us start rounds on time. Please wait at Ballot Push, because we will prioritize giving ballots to Community Judges first. We will especially need parents for the first round, when there will be fewer community judges.

Students: Get to your rooms efficiently, and deliver your speeches as soon as you can! Don't wait, which can prolong rounds and keep judges waiting.

Waitlists

If an event you are desiring appears as waitlist only, please register under the waitlist and we will update via email if/when event becomes available. We have a limited number of rooms, and will work to shuffle rooms and events based on how many students want to compete in the event.

Patterns

Schedule and patterns may change depending on registration numbers for each event.
All speech events are offered. Impromptu may or may not be offered due to space constraints.

Students may compete in a maximum of 3 events per pattern, and are responsible for getting to events on time. Judges will not wait more than 10 minutes for the last speech in the room.

Judging Requirements

Tournaments rely on the availability of the parents. A parent must be physically present with student at check-in before student is able to compete. Each registered family is to have a minimum of one parent judging who will be available to judge at least 3 rounds. Parents, please come to Ballot Push 40 minutes before rounds start. Ballot Push will be glad to see you, and you'll help this tournament run on time!
