NITOC Qualification Information
This past summer, the Stoa Board of Directors announced an important update to NITOC qualification which has been rolled out for the 2025-2026 season. The percentage of competitors at NITOC-qualifying tournaments who will receive a green checkmark is 35% in every Speech event except for Impromptu, which remains at 25%. Checkmarks for debate will be awarded to competitors who finish the tournament in the top 35% of competitors. In addition, all rounding for all events has been standardized to use mathematical rounding to the nearest whole number rather than rounding down as we have done with speech events in the past.

- Tournament Status will update to Drops only at 11:59 pm Fri 09/12/2025 (Central)
- Late fee will be applied at 8:00 am Sat 09/13/2025 (Central)
- Tournament Status will update to Closed at 11:59 pm Thu 09/25/2025 (Central)
- Meal registration will close at 11:59 pm Fri 10/03/2025 (Central)
- Community Judge registration will close at 8:00 pm Sat 10/11/2025 (Central)

- Setup
- The tournament is still being set up.
- Open
- Registration is open — families can register for the tournament.
- Drops Only
- No new entries are allowed, but families can drop existing ones.
- Closed
- Registration is closed — no adds or drops. Contact the tournament director with questions.
- Completed
- The tournament is finished.
