We recommend each team carry a copy of the Parliamentary Debate Rules. Please also be familiar with the Stoa Evidence Philosophy and Standards.

You must be in Pilgrim Chapel (the Parli announcement room) 10 minutes before the scheduled start time for each round.
Parli Debate will be self-timed, so please bring a working timepiece.
Should there be any unforeseen issues with the internet, you will have to rely on your brilliant Parli minds. You are free to bring Extemp boxes or hard copies of magazines to use in prep.
Storage for Expos will be located near the bottom of the stairs on the first floor of Pilgrim Chapel (near Roger's Theater) and on the opposite long hallway (follow the signs!).
Please do not leave valuable items unattended in these areas.
Parent Meal Pass
Catered by Central Market and served in the judge area. Please purchase a parent pass for each adult member of your family who plans to have meals at the tournament. The parent meal pass includes a light breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and all the little extras for all three days throughout the tournament!
Student Meals
Individual meals can be purchased for students, siblings, etc., and will be served in the student area. All meals will come with bottled water.

During competition, students must dress in modest, professional business attire.
Gentlemen: Suit or slacks and a blazer jacket; collared shirt and tie; professional dress shoes and socks.
Ladies: Skirt or pant suit; or professional slacks, skirt, or dress with a blazer jacket; professional dress shoes. Dress/skirt hemlines and slits should be no higher than the middle of the knee. Hose not required.
Awards Ceremony: Students must attend the awards ceremony in full competition attire.
Violations: If the competitor's attire at any time during the tournament is deemed a violation of the dress code, the competitor will be asked to come into compliance before being allowed to participate.
Tournament participants will exhibit kind, polite, and respectful attitudes toward each other and behave in a manner that brings honor to God.
Conflicts that arise mid-tournament will be resolved at the sole discretion of tournament leadership. Tournament leadership has final authority in all tournament decisions.
Tournament participants will adhere to the Peacemaker’s Pledge derived from Matthew 5:23-25 and 18:15-17. This principle dictates that if an offense occurs, the offended should go directly to the offender to resolve the issue; no gossiping or discussing with another person. We seek to restore relationships. A third party may be necessary to resolve issues.

LocationDallas Baptist University 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, Texas 75211 The Judge Area is located on the bottom floor of Pilgrim Chapel. Follow the signs in the chapel downstairs to Sadler Hall. Please arrive 45 minutes before the scheduled start time of each round you plan to judge. Below is the maximum time needed per round, which includes early arrival for Judge Orientation, judging the round, and completing ballots.
