Dress Code: We will follow the Stoa dress code.
Meals: You will have the option to pre-order a boxed lunch starting in January. The other option is to pack your food and bring it with you. There will not be time to leave for food once the tournament begins. Also, please bring your own water bottle. You will be able to refill it at the tournament, but we will not offer individual bottled drinks. We'll be providing light snacks in the judges lounge and courtyard for students, but don't count on them to satisfy your hunger. Please consider purchasing a boxed lunch for yourself. The deadline to pre-order a meal is February 7th.
Waitlist: If your event fills up, please go ahead and register. We will do our best to get as many students into the tournament as possible. Do not pay for meals until you are moved off the waiting list.
The tournament schedule is subject to change based on registration. Speech patterns may also be adjusted depending on the number of competitors in each event. We encourage you to check back after registration closes for any updates.
Parent Judges
We recognize that participating in Stoa requires a sacrifice of a family's time and resources. When you register your student(s) to participate in this tournament you are also committing your time and energy to it. That means you, or another person over the age of 21, agree to be present at the tournament at all times AND will serve with a willing spirit as a judge or in another support role. When one person does not pull their weight, others have to carry the load. Practically speaking, we want our tournament to be able to run on schedule in order to honor the time of parents, participants, and community judges, and that requires parents to judge as many rounds as may be necessary over the course of the tournament. We are actively recruiting community judges.
Apologetics
We will announce our Apologetics category on January 8th at 12:00 p.m.
