Tournament Timetable

Community Judge registration will open at 12:00 am Sat 11/30/2024 (Pacific)

Tournament Status will update to Open at 8:00 am Mon 12/16/2024 (Pacific)

Tournament Status will update to Drops only at 12:00 pm Mon 12/23/2024 (Pacific)

Tournament Status will update to Closed at 12:00 pm Mon 12/23/2024 (Pacific)

Meal registration will close at 12:00 pm Fri 12/27/2024 (Pacific)

Community Judge registration will close at 12:00 pm Thu 01/02/2025 (Pacific)

Setup:

This status is used while the tournament is still being setup.
Open:

This status means tournament registration is open. Families can register for the tournament.
Drops Only:

This status means only registration drops are allowed. There are no new entries allowed but families can drop entries.
Closed:

This status means registration is currently closed for the tournament. There are no adds or drops allowed. Please contact the tournament director with any questions.
Completed:

This status means the tournament is completed.

Script Submission

Scripts are due by December 29, 2024

Please have an experienced parent in your club review your script to see if it's submission ready, prior to submission. Thank you.

Please email scripts as PDFs only to www.parrhesiaspeaks@gmail.com

Each event should have a separate email. On the subject line, please write the first and last name and the event.

Stoa Details

The Fine Print

You must be a Stoa member to register. All Stoa rules and guidelines apply including Dress Code and Code of Conduct.

Students must have a parent with them to check in. Parents (or another adult) must be on-site, ready to judge.

There are a lot of judging slots to fill. We appreciate parent judges and will reward them with coffee and yummy snacks so they are ready to take a multitude of ballots.

Waitlisted? Please don't fret, we will make every effort to move you off the waitlist.

LD (& TP)

LD: Please note: We will be running the current resolution.

TP: Unfortunately, there were not enough teams to offer TP at this tournament. If you are a current TPer and would like to enter LD for this tournament, please contact the Tournament Admin. for a discount code to try LD. Welcome to the dark side.

Juniors

The Junior Tournament - Rules, Details, and Topics

Apologetics & Impromptu will be 3 min prep and 4 min speech time
Apol may choose their topic from the list
Juniors may use note cards
Platform or Interp will be a 5-minute speech. No minimum time.
Relaxed dress code, no jacket required.
Students 15yrs and older may judge these events
Cost is $15 per event. Maximum of 2 events
Junior-only parents are required to judge at least 2 rounds of regular competition.

Lincoln-Douglas Debate: $40

Speech Events (All Offered): $35 for the first 2 events, $15 for each additional event

Juniors: $15, maximum 2 events

All fees must be paid before registration closing. $10 drop fee before registration closes. $20 after registration closes. $30 drop fee day of.
