  This status is used while the tournament is still being setup.

• Open:

  This status means tournament registration is open. Families can register for the tournament.

• Drops Only:

  This status means only registration drops are allowed. There are no new entries allowed but families can drop entries.

• Closed:

  This status means registration is currently closed for the tournament. There are no adds or drops allowed. Please contact the tournament director with any questions.

• Completed:

  This status means the tournament is completed.

The Fine Print

You must be a Stoa member to register. All Stoa rules and guidelines apply including Dress Code and Code of Conduct. 

Students must have a parent with them to check in.  Parents (or another adult) must be on-site, ready to judge. 

There are a lot of judging slots to fill. We appreciate parent judges and will reward them with coffee and yummy snacks so they are ready to take a multitude of ballots. 

Waitlisted?  Please don't fret, we will make every effort to move you off the waitlist. 

LD: Please note: We will be running the current resolution. Resolved: Mandatory national service is justified.

TP: Unfortunately, there were not enough teams to offer TP at this tournament.  If you are a current TPer and would like to enter LD for this tournament, please contact the Tournament Admin. for a discount code to try LD.  Welcome to the dark side.

Scripts are due by December 26, 2024 at midnight.  Save some stress and submit before Christmas. 

Please email scripts as PDFs to your Speech Coach or Club Leader.  They will send your final PDF to the Tournament Director.  This is a little different process than we usually do, but this way your coach can assist you with any edits.

The Junior Tournament - Rules, Details, and Topics

Cost is $15 for 2 events, a maximum of 2 events. 

• Apologetics & Impromptu will be 3 min prep and 4 min speech time 
• Apol may choose their topic from the Stoa list and prepare a speech.
• Juniors may use note cards
• Platform or Interp will be a 5-minute speech.  No minimum time.
• Relaxed dress code, no jacket required. 
• Students 12 years and older may judge these events
• No script submission.  

• Junior-only parents are required to judge at least 2 rounds of regular competition. 

In February, Stoa will host a tournament in Africa.  You can help The Heros of the Nation!

We will be collecting supplies for The Hug family to take with them.  These are the requested supplies.
