Tournament TimeMark your calendars! Stoa is excited to announce our Spring Online Debate Tournament, running Monday, May 4, through Thursday, May 7. This four-day event will feature Lincoln-Douglas, Team Policy, and Parliamentary debate competitions and will serve as a fundraiser for the league.
This is an awesome opportunity to keep your debate skills sharp between the end of the regular season and NITOC. Please note this is a non-NITOC qualifying event, and you do not have to be qualified for NITOC to participate — all Stoa debaters are welcome!
One of the best parts of an online national tournament is the chance to debate students from across the country and gain exposure to debaters and judges you would not normally encounter during the competition season. Competitors will enjoy six preliminary rounds in each event, followed by complete double-elimination outrounds in TP and LD. It will be the same outround pattern used at NITOC. Parli will also be modeled on the NITOC pattern of six preliminary rounds and double-octo elimination rounds.
Registration Opens: Friday, April 3 @ 10:00am CT
Registration Closes: Monday, April 20 @ 11:59pm CT
Cost:
Team Policy: $50 per student
Lincoln Douglas: $50 per student
Parli: $50 per student
