Welcome to the Music City Match!
Thank you for your interest in serving as a Judge!
Our students work hard all to grow in communication, critical thinking, and character — and your feedback is what makes that growth possible! You don’t need any prior experience to judge. We’ll provide simple training and clear instructions when you arrive, and our friendly staff will guide you through every step.
WHY JUDGE?
- A meaningful impact – your input helps shape the next generation of articulate Christian leaders.
- Hospitality provided – enjoy delicious refreshments and a welcoming atmosphere as our guest.
- Short time commitment - it just takes 2-3 hours to judge, and the impact you can make on our students is lasting and meaningful.
WE NEED YOU TO ASSIST US AS A COMMUNITY JUDGE!!
The Ambassadors for Christ Speech and Debate Club, affiliated with the national, homeschool league, Stoa, www.stoausa.org / https://stoahub.org is hosting the MUSIC CITY MATCH Speech and Debate Tournament for Christian home-educated students ages 7-18, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, February 19-21, 2026, at Concord Road Church of Christ, 8221 Concord Road, Brentwood, 37027.
We Know You Can Do This! No prior experience judging speech and debate is necessary! We want high school graduates and college students to judge, too!!
We will treat you as our honored guests, which you are! You will observe home school students presenting their well-defined speeches and studied debates, dine on meals prepared just for you, our judges! What works for your schedule will bless you and benefit us!
WHAT OTHERS WHO'VE JUDGED HAVE SAID ABOUT IT
· An Unanticipated, Unforgettable Experience…
· I recently experienced a true highlight in my personal life. I volunteered to be a judge at a Speech and Debate Tournament. Little did I realize it would be the highlight of my volunteer activities for the year.
· The day of judging taught me much in skill and technique that I can take into my own professional life and brought renewed respect for young people.
· If I could offer advice to community leaders, executives and adults it would be to NOT MISS the opportunity to judge if you are ever presented with the opportunity.
What to expect? Christian homeschooled students from Tennessee and many other states will present their speeches and debates. The students are divided into two groups based on their ages. Senior Varsity students aged 13-high school seniors, choose from 12 different speeches and 3 different types of debate. Junior Varsity students ages 7 – 12, can choose from 10 different types of Speech events.
Come see if you are impacted by and persuaded by our skillful homeschooled speakers and debaters. You be the Judge! Ready to Join Us?
