Located in the piney woods of East Texas, the Piney Woods Derby will offer all Stoa speech events, Lincoln Douglas, Team Policy, and Parliamentary Debate. Speech and debate event offerings may be subject to change.

Please plan to arrive about 45 minutes before your first scheduled round. 

Drawings for prizes for community, parent, and alumni judges. Every round judged is an entry in a drawing. Judge a lot, earn more chances to win prizes. We will also have snacks and meals provided for you.

Parent Meals:

The Family Fee covers meals for all parents. There is no additional charge for parent meals. Anyone over 18 is welcome to eat with us. Children under age 18 should purchase student meals.

Please make all meal selections for students by Oct. 27.

All fees must be paid in full by Oct. 31, or competitors may be dropped from events.

We will have 3 full rounds of speech. We are not offering Junior Events this year.

WAITLISTS: We will do our best to accomodate everyone on a waitlist. We have a great facility, and if we can make an extra room work we will. Students will be moved from the waitlist as space becomes available, in the order they registered. 

This is a Stoa qualifying tournament, and membership in Stoa is required to participate.

Speech events will have 3 preliminary rounds- followed by a Finals round. Events without enough competitors to warrant a Finals round will not go to a 4th round.
