Junior Speech Tournament

Junior Competitors ages 6-11 will be able to compete in Platform, Interp (including Duo), and Apologetics. There will be no Junior Script Submission, and no Junior speech length requirements. Juniors may wait to check-in atour Info Table on Friday, prior to their rounds. 

While our schedule is subject to change, we anticipate Junior rounds held on Friday afternoon and evening. Junior Ballots for each event are linked below. Stoa competitors interested in judging? Yes, current Stoa competitors are welcome to judge if their competition schedule allows, AND if they have received one or more Stoa Checkmark(s) in any event in any competition year. Junior Awards will be given at completion of the tournament during Saturday's awards ceremony.

Junior Apologetics will use the following questons:

Round 1: The Character and Nature of God

1. What does it mean that God is triune? Why is this important?
2. What does it mean that God is immutable? Why is this important?
3. What is the meaning of the sovereignty of God? Why is this important?
4. What does it mean that Jesus Christ is the Messiah? Why is this important?
5. Why is it important that Jesus is both fully God and fully man?
6. What is the role of the Holy Spirit in Salvation? Why is this important?
7. What does it mean that God is omniscient? Why is this important?
 
 
Round 2: Scripture
 
1. Why are the unity and sufficiency of Scripture essential to the Christian faith?
2. What does the inspiration of Scripture mean? Why is this important?
3. What is the Gospel and why is it the core of the Christian faith?
4. What does it mean that the Bible is inerrant? Why is this important?
5. Is the Bible historically reliable? Why is this important?
6. Respond to the statement: "The Bible is full of contradictions."
7. Respond to someone claiming the Quran is the word of God.
