Novice Apologetics
We are offering Novice Apologetics, for STOA Competitors in their FIRST YEAR.
- This is not a NITOC qualifying event.
- Only students in their first year of Stoa are eligible to compete in this event.
- Students competing in Novice Apologetics may not compete in the regular Apologetics event at Tucson Tangle.
- Only the 12 questions listed below will be used.
- All 12 will be in the envelope for each round.
- The Stoa Apologetics event rules and ballot will be used for this Novice event.
Novice Apologetics Topics
Category 1: The Character and Nature of God
- What does it mean that Jesus is the Messiah? Why is it important?
- Why is it important that Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man?
Category 2: Foundations of Christianity
- What is the grace of God? Why is it important?
- What is the importance of the resurrection of Jesus?
Category 3: Scripture
- What does the inspiration of Scripture mean? Why is it important?
- Is the Bible historically reliable? Why is this important?
Category 4: God and Man
- Can morality exist without God?
- Can a person do enough good in their life to go to heaven?
Category 5: Christian Worldview Application
- Compare and contrast the world’s view of identity with God’s view of identity.
- Is all human life valuable, and if so, why?
Category 6: Christianity Compared
- Is karma a biblical concept?
- What are the unique features of Christianity that set it apart from all other religions of the world?
