Registration Details:

Registration opens March 23 at 8am PST
Registration closes March 30 at 5pm PST 

This is an official Stoa qualifying tournament hosted by Response Speech and Debate Club.

Events Offered: All Speech Events; A student may register for a maximum of three speech events per pattern. 
    Junior Impromptu, Platform and Interp

*** Speech Patterns subject to change after registration closes. ***

Tournament Fees:

  • $30 per Speech Event
  • Junior Speech - $15 first event; $10 for each additional event

Full payment expected by close of registration, March 30, or you risk being dropped from your events. 

  • Drop fee - $20 each event after April 13th
  • Script Submission Late Fee - $10 for each event after April 17th.

A Complete Registration includes the following:

  • Student registration
  • Parent Judge Registration
  • Fees Paid

Refund Policy

  • Before close of registration - no extra fees incurred, all drops fully refunded minus Stripe fees.
  • No refunds AFTER registration close on March 30 at 5pm PST

Script Submission:

Online script submission is required for this tournament. Please see Script Submission page for details. Late scripts will result in fees: Please submit on time, to allow our script submission team time to review your scripts!

 

General Information:

  • Community Judge Orientation: Judge orientation will take place an hour before each round. Please see Judge Orientation tab for more details.

  • Meals: We enrcourage parents and competetiors to either bring a meal or purchase a our tournament pre-order meals. Most fast food restaurants in the area are a bit of distance from the tournament site so please plan accordingly if going to pick up meals in order to meet judging requirements. For more information on pre-order meals please see "Meals" tab.

  • Parent Attendance - *This is not a drop-off event for any student.* You are expected to remain at the event with your student. If you are unable to do so, pleaase contact the Tournament Director. 

  • Check-In: There will only be one check in time for all competitors. Students will need to have their parent physically with them to check-in.

A Note about Judges (including Junior Speech):

Parent Judges
All parents or guardians must be present and available to judge a minimum of two rounds for each event in which their student competes. Because we understand that special circumstances may arise, please contact the Tournament Director if you are unable to fulfill your judging requirement. Otherwise, parents are expected to judge. 
 
Community Judges and Stoa Alums 
We welcome all Community Judges and Stoa Alumni to our tournament. Refreshments and training are provided for our judges. To register, please visit the Community and Alumni Registration tab. Please note when registering, we encourage you to choose non back to back time slots so you may have adequate time to complete a ballot.
 
Junior Competitiion Judges
Competitors who are 15 yrs old and 1-2 years Stoa member will be our judges for the Junior speech.
