Extemp Comes First

If you compete in Extemp, it must take priority in your schedule during its speech pattern. If you're entered in other speech events in the same pattern, plan your time so you don't miss your draw.

Draw times are fixed. If you arrive late to the prep room, your prep time will be shortened. Speaker positions cannot be switched or changed.

Please note: If you don't leave enough time at the end of a pattern to complete your other events, you may need to forfeit those events to keep the tournament running on time.

Electronic Devices & Liability

Students are fully responsible for the safety and security of their electronic devices throughout the tournament. Tournament staff are not responsible for personal devices at any time.

Please label every device clearly with the competitor's name and contact information.

Clearing the Prep Room

The Extemp Prep Room is used as a competition room during other patterns, so please remove all of your Extemp materials after each Extemp round.
